At SavyBoat.com, we believe that the model of your dreams shouldn't have to wait for life’s perfect moment.  The SavyBoat Layaway Program is our commitment to making our high-quality, handcrafted maritime products accessible and attainable for every customer — offering a flexible, completely 100% interest-free way to reserve the items you love and pay for them over time, entirely on your own schedule.

When a customer enrolls in the SavyBoat Layaway Program, we hold the selected item(s) exclusively for them.  Once the final payment is received, the item on layaway is shipped. No interest. No credit check. No shortcuts — just a straightforward path to making our customers’ dreams come true. Our policies are designed to be clear, fair, and transparent so that you can shop with complete confidence.

What Is the SavyBoat Layaway Program?

The SavyBoat Layaway Program is a flexible, 100% interest-free payment plan that allows customers to reserve eligible items listed on SavyBoat.com, so they are held and not sold to anyone but them while they pay for them, by paying a deposit and completing the remaining balance over a defined period. 

How It Differs from Credit Financing

The Layaway Program is not a credit product. It is simply our way of helping our customers get a model as easily as possible without incurring debt.  This program carries:

  • No interest — your balance never grows beyond the original purchase price plus applicable service fee.
  • No credit check — enrollment has no impact on your credit score.
  • No debt — you pay over time and receive your item only after the final payment is complete.

* SavyBoat Financing is offered through third-party lending partners and is subject to credit approval. Financing availability may vary by item type and customer location. Financing terms are governed by the third-party and are separate from this Layaway Program policy.

Eligibility to Participate

The Layaway Program is available exclusively to registered SavyBoat.com account holders in good standing. Customers must maintain an active, verified account throughout the duration of their layaway plan.

Item Reservation Guarantee

Once a customer enrolls and a deposit is received, SavyBoat reserves the item(s)the customer selected exclusively for them for the full duration of the layaway term. The item will not be offered to or sold to any other buyer while your plan is active.

Relationship to our SavyBoat Pre-Order Program

The SavyBoat Layaway Program is a separate and distinct offering from the SavyBoat Pre-Order Program. The Pre-Order Program applies to items that have not yet arrived in our U.S. warehouse and are not yet available to the general public (e.g. “inbound” models). The Layaway Program applies to items that are currently in stock and available for purchase in our U.S. warehouse. Both programs may run concurrently, but operate under independent terms and policies.

Eligible Items

All regular-priced products and models are eligible for the SavyBoat.com Layaway Program, provided their listed purchase price meets an individual minimum price threshold of $600.00 or a combined minimum price of $1000.00 for layaways containing up to 5 items.  

Items that are expressly excluded and not eligible for the SavyBoat.com Layaway Program include, but is not limited to:

  • Items currently marked as clearance, one-of-a-kind, or discontinued.
  • Gift certificates and/or store credit instruments such as promotional codes and coupons
  • Items fulfilled by third-party sellers, unless the listing is explicitly marked "Layaway Eligible."
  • Any product or model that is part of a single item layaway with an individual minimum price threshold under $600.00
  • Any product or model that is part of a multi-item layaway with an individual minimum price threshold under $100.00

NOTE: A multi-item layaway may contain several items of a $100 or more, but combined must meet the minimum combined minimum price threshold of $1000 in accordance with the SavyBoat.com policies. 

SavyBoat.com reserves the right to determine item eligibility at its sole discretion and may update eligibility requirements at any time without notice. Eligible items will display a "Layaway Available" badge on their SavyBoat.com product listing page. Only items displaying this badge may be enrolled in the SavyBoat Layaway Program.

Price Lock Guarantee & Promotions

For all items enrolled in the SavyBoat.com Layaway program, the displayed purchase price at the time of enrollment is locked and guaranteed for the full duration of your layaway plan. This guarantee applies regardless of any subsequent price changes, markdowns, increases, or events that affect the listed price of the item after enrollment. The customer will not be charged more if the listed price increases after it is enrolled. The price locked at enrollment is the final price honored. 

Active layaway items are not eligible for additional promotional discounts, coupon codes, flash sales, seasonal sales events, bundle offers, or any other price reduction that occurs after the date of layaway enrollment.  If a promotional or sale price was in effect at the time of layaway enrollment, that promotional price will be honored and locked for the full duration of the plan.

SavyBoat reward points may be applied toward a layaway balance only at the time of the final payment. They may not be applied toward the initial deposit, the Layaway Service Fee, or any scheduled installment payment during the layaway period. Redemption is subject to standard SavyBoat loyalty program terms.

How to Enroll

Enrolling in the SavyBoat Layaway Program is straightforward. Follow the steps below to reserve your item and lock in your price today.

  1. Browse & Select
    Find an item displaying the "Layaway Eligible" badge on SavyBoat.com. Review the product details, price, and specifications to confirm your selection.
  2. Choose Item to Layaway
    Once an item or items have been chosen for layaway, submit a layaway request on our layaway submittal form (below) with "Layaway Program Purchase" noted in the request.  A Savyboat.com team member will reply with a Layaway Program invoice and instructions based on the request.
  3. Pay Your Deposit
    Upon receipt of the invoice and payment instructions, the customer must submit the minimum payment and service fee noted on the invoice to lock in the item(s) sale and secure the current listed price in accordance with the policies herein.
  4. Receive Your Layaway Agreement
    Upon successful enrollment, a digital Layaway Agreement will be sent to the customer by our team confirming the reserved item(s), total purchase price, deposit paid, payment schedule, layaway service fee, and plan completion date. This agreement will be emailed to the address on your SavyBoat.com account.
  5. Make Scheduled Payments
    Follow the payment schedule set at enrollment. Payments will be invoiced.  The customer can arrange for early or additional payments at any time without penalty by contacting us at HELPDESK@SAVYBOAT.COM.  All amounts are credited directly to your outstanding balance.

By enrolling in the SavyBoat Layaway Program, the buyer agrees to the following responsibilities for the full duration of the layaway plan:

  • Maintain an active, verified SavyBoat.com account in good standing at all times during the layaway period.
  • Make all scheduled payments on time and monitor the Account Dashboard for payment reminders, balance updates, and plan status notifications.
  • Notify SavyBoat.com promptly if a scheduled payment cannot be made or if the customer wishes to request a plan modification per the applicable policies herein.
  • Ensure that all account information, including email address, phone number, and payment method on file, remains current, accurate, and active throughout the plan.
  • Refrain from attempting to transfer, assign, sell, or otherwise convey the layaway reservation or any associated rights to any other individual or entity.
  • Review and comply with all applicable SavyBoat.com policies, including the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Fraud Prevention Policy, throughout the duration of the plan.

Payment & Fulfillment

Once a customer pays the full balance, SavyBoat.com will process shipment or coordinate pickup within the standard fulfillment window applicable to the item type. The customer will receive a fulfillment confirmation with tracking information or pickup instructions.

A minimum non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total purchase price is required at the time of enrollment. This deposit secures the item, removes it from available inventory, and locks in the price displayed at the time of enrollment.

A one-time, non-refundable Layaway Service Fee is collected at enrollment. This fee covers item reservation administration, storage coordination, and ongoing account management during the layaway period. Service fees are as follows:

A minimum monthly payment is required to keep the layaway plan active and in good standing. Customers may elect to pay weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Exact scheduled payment amounts are calculated at enrollment.  Early or additional payments are accepted at any time without penalty.

No Interest

SavyBoat.com does not charge interest on any layaway balances at any point during the plan. The total amount owed never increases beyond the original purchase price plus the applicable Layaway Service Fee. There are no hidden costs or fees associated with the SavyBoat layaway payment plan.

Accepted Payment Methods

All payments under this Layaway Program must be made using SavyBoat-accepted payment methods, upon invoicing for the layaway, which include but are not limited to credit cards and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), and paid via the PayPal invoicing system.

The following payment methods are not accepted for layaway transactions: wire transfer, peer-to-peer cash applications (including Zelle and CashApp), and cryptocurrency of any kind.

Payment Schedule & Reminders

A detailed, itemized payment schedule, including each payment date and amount, is generated at enrollment.   This schedule serves as the authoritative record of payment obligations under the SavyBoat Layaway Agreement.

SavyBoat may send automated payment reminders via:

  • Email — approximately 7 days before each scheduled payment date, and/or
  • SMS text message — 7 days and 3 days before each scheduled payment date (available to customers who have opted in to SMS communications).

Customers may make early or additional payments at any time by contacting us are HELPDESK@SAVYBOAT.COM.   All such payments are credited immediately to the outstanding layaway balance.

NOTE : Any reminder notifications are provided as a courtesy. Customers are responsible for making their payments on schedule regardless of if reminder notifications are sent/received. Technical issues with notification delivery do not waive payment obligations under this policy.

Missed & Late Payment Policy

If a scheduled payment fails to process for any reason, SavyBoat.com will send a payment failure notice to the email address on file within 24 hours of the missed due date.

Customers will be granted a seven (7) calendar-day grace period from the original scheduled payment due date to submit the overdue payment. No late fee will be applied if full payment of the overdue amount is received within this grace period.

If payment is not received within the seven (7) calendar-day grace period, a Late Payment Fee of $15.00 will be applied to the layaway account balance. This fee will be due and payable in addition to the overdue installment amount.

If a customer misses two (2) or more consecutive scheduled payments without proactively contacting SavyBoat.com at HELPDESK@SAVYBOAT.COM,  the layaway plan may be placed on administrative hold, and the reserved item may be released from reservation. Once released, the item is no longer guaranteed to be available for the customer and may be offered for sale to other buyers.

Hardship Accommodations

SavyBoat.com deeply understands how financial circumstances can change unexpectedly. Customers who anticipate difficulty making a scheduled payment are strongly encouraged to contact our team proactively at HELPDESK@SAVYBOAT.COM before the payment due date occurs. Plan adjustments and accommodations, including payment date changes and short-term extensions, may be available on a case-by-case basis and are solely done at SavyBoat's discretion.  Ultimately, our goal is to make all of our customers’ dreams a reality, so we work very hard to meet all challenges our customers may experience.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel their active layaway plan at any time prior to the final payment by submitting a cancellation request to HELPDESK@SAVYBOAT.COM. Cancellations are processed within 2-3 business days of receipt of the request.

Upon confirmed cancellation by the customer, customers may request, in writing, either a refund of their applicable payments or a credit of all their payments (excluding service fees) towards a future purchase. The following refund/credit terms apply:

For a customer who requested a REFUND:

  • The initial deposit (20%) is non-refundable.
  • The Layaway Service Fee is non-refundable.
  • All payments made, excluding the initial deposit and service fee, will be issued an applicable refund, processed in full, to the original payment method, within 7–10 business days of cancellation confirmation.

For a customer who requested CREDIT, the entire payment received toward the layaway is 100% creditable (less the originating service or late fees) :

  • The initial deposit (20%) is creditable.
  • The Layaway Service Fee is non-refundable.
  • The Customer may request in writing that all payments made, excluding the layaway service fee, be applied to either a:
    • Store credit that is equal to the total of all payments made to the layaway, including original deposit (less applicable service fees), prior to the date of cancellation.  This credit can be used towards any future SavyBoat.com purchase or pre-order.  
    • Gift Certificate (or multiple gift certificates) that is equal to the total of all payments made to the layaway (less applicable service fees) prior to the date of cancellation.  This allows the gift certificate recipient(s) to use the credit towards any future SavyBoat.com purchase or pre-order. 

SavyBoat reserves the right to cancel a layaway plan at its discretion in the following circumstances:

  • Two (2) or more consecutive scheduled payments are missed without any communication of circumstances from the customer;
  • The customer's SavyBoat account is found to violate SavyBoat's Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, or Fraud Prevention Policy; or any other SavyBoat.com policy
  • The reserved item becomes permanently unavailable due to manufacturer discontinuation, physical damage while in SavyBoat's care, recall, or other circumstances beyond SavyBoat's reasonable control.

Refunds as a result of a SavyBoat-initiated cancellation are dependent on circumstances and handled as described below:

  • Item Unavailability (beyond SavyBoat's control): A full refund of all payments made, including the deposit and service fees, will be issued as an applicable refund, processed in full, to the original payment method, within 7–10 business days of cancellation confirmation.
  • Policy or Terms of Service Violation / Missed Payments: Standard cancellation refund terms apply — the originating layaway deposit, layaway service fee, late fees, and first scheduled payment is forfeited, with all remaining layaway balance issued an applicable refund, processed in full, to the original payment method, within 7–10 business days of cancellation

Item Reservation & Ownership

Reserved items remain the sole property of SavyBoat.com throughout the entire layaway period. Title to the item does not pass to the customer until the final payment has been received and confirmed in full. SavyBoat will hold the reserved item in its inventory or with its authorized fulfillment partner for the duration of the layaway plan. Items are not shipped, transferred, or made available to the customer until full payment is completed. Customers have no right to use, access, or take possession of the item during the layaway period.

Once the item has been shipped or physically released to the customer following final payment, risk of loss transfers to the customer. At that point, SavyBoat's standard shipping, delivery, and return terms and policies govern the item.

Modifications to a Layaway Plan

Customers may request the following modifications to an active layaway plan by contacting us at HELPDESK@SAVYBOAT.COM and requesting a:

  • Change of a scheduled payment date — This is permitted once per plan term, provided the request is submitted at least five (5) calendar days before the next scheduled due date;
  • Update/change of payment method on file 
  • Request for a plan extension — This is granted at SavyBoat.com's sole discretion. Extension fees may apply depending on the duration requested and the item. Customers will be informed of any applicable fees before confirmation of the authorized extension.

Exchanges, substitutions, and/or switching of any item on layaway to a different item is not permitted within an active layaway plan. To reserve a different item, the customer must cancel the current layaway plan (subject to the cancellation terms herein) and initiate a new layaway enrollment for the desired item.

Other modifications and/or changes to an active layaway plan that are not permitted and cannot be made under any circumstances include:

  • Transfer or assignment of the layaway reservation to another individual or account;
  • Reduction of the locked purchase price after enrollment; or
  • Changes to the original layaway deposit amount after it has been submitted.

Fulfillment & Delivery

Upon confirmed receipt of the final payment, SavyBoat will ship the reserved item(s)  in accordance with the applicable Shipping policies.

Once an item(s) has been shipped, SavyBoat.com's shipping, delivery, returns, and manufacturer warranty policies apply in full. Customers are encouraged to review these policies, available at SavyBoat.com, before enrollment.

Responsibilities

By enrolling in the SavyBoat Layaway Program, each customer agrees to the following responsibilities for the full duration of the layaway plan:

  • Maintain an active, verified SavyBoat.com account in good standing at all times during the layaway period.
  • Make all scheduled payments on time and monitor the Account Dashboard for payment reminders, balance updates, and plan status notifications.
  • Notify SavyBoat promptly — before the due date, where possible — if a scheduled payment cannot be made or if the customer wishes to request a plan modification.
  • Ensure that all account information, including email address, phone number, and payment method on file, remains current, accurate, and active throughout the plan.
  • Refrain from attempting to transfer, assign, sell, or otherwise convey the layaway reservation or any associated rights to any other individual or entity.
  • Review and comply with all applicable SavyBoat.com policies, including the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Fraud Prevention Policy, throughout the duration of the plan.

Fraud Prevention

All layaway enrollments are subject to SavyBoat.com's Fraud Prevention Policy and all other SavyBoat.com policies and standard payment verification procedures. SavyBoat.com reserves the right to place a layaway plan on hold pending verification of payment authenticity, account identity, or item availability at any time during the plan.

The following activities constitute misuse of the Layaway Program and are strictly prohibited:

  • Enrollment using stolen, fraudulent, or unauthorized payment methods;
  • Enrollment under a false or misrepresented identity;
  • Manipulation of the program to exploit pricing, item availability, or reservation exclusivity; and
  • Use of multiple accounts, coordinated third-party accounts, or automated means to circumvent program rules.

Customers found to have engaged in layaway fraud or program abuse may be subject to:

  • Immediate cancellation of all active layaway plans;
  • Permanent suspension of their SavyBoat.com account;
  • Forfeiture of all deposits, payments, and fees made under the fraudulent plan(s); and
  • Civil and/or criminal legal action, as appropriate under applicable law.

Customers who suspect unauthorized use of their account or payment methods in connection with the Layaway Program should contact SavyBoat.com immediately at HELPDESK@SAVYBOAT.COM.
