When Jupiter Marine unveiled the 41 Sport Bridge in the early 2010s, it marked a turning point for the Florida builder. Known for producing fast, impeccably finished center consoles for discerning private owners, Jupiter had never built anything quite like this. The 41SB was larger, more luxurious, and more yacht‑like than anything in the company’s lineup — a bold step into the world of enclosed‑bridge offshore cruisers.
The 41SB was the first Jupiter to feature a fully enclosed fiberglass helm deck and bridge, a design choice that instantly set it apart. Earlier Jupiters were open, wind‑in‑your‑face fishing machines. The 41SB, by contrast, offered a climate‑controlled helm, wraparound seating, and a raised command position with panoramic visibility. It was a sportfisherman built with the comfort and refinement of a small yacht — a hybrid that appealed to owners who wanted both performance and luxury.
Below the sleek profile was a hull engineered for serious offshore work. At 40'3" LOA with a 12'8" beam and an 18° deep‑V deadrise, the 41SB was hand‑laid in fiberglass and backed by Jupiter’s lifetime transferable hull warranty. Triple Yamaha F350s — later upgraded to 425‑hp XTOs — delivered more than 1,050 horsepower, pushing the boat past 50 mph in sea trials while maintaining a quiet, composed ride. Yamaha’s Helm Master joystick and optional bow thruster made docking effortless, even in tight marinas.
Inside, the 41SB offered the kind of accommodations that made extended cruising not just possible, but inviting. The cabin slept five, with a full galley, private enclosed head with shower, and full climate control. With 493 gallons of fuel and 80 gallons of water, the boat could comfortably run to the Bahamas, Bermuda, or deep into the Caribbean — exactly the kind of destinations Jupiter’s clientele favored.
For anglers, the 41SB delivered the goods: expansive cockpit space, optional tuna towers, Seakeeper stabilization, oversized livewells, and the ability to customize nearly every system on board. Jupiter’s build‑to‑order philosophy meant each 41SB reflected its owner’s priorities, whether hardcore fishing, family cruising, or a blend of both.
The model debuted with fanfare at major shows like the Miami International Boat Show, drawing attention for its striking lines and enclosed‑bridge silhouette. Early owners loved the performance but noted reliability issues with the original Yamaha 350s — a concern Jupiter addressed by shifting to the more robust 425s in later builds.
Over time, the 41SB became a favorite among affluent, experienced boaters who wanted a vessel capable of long offshore runs without sacrificing comfort. It represented the evolution of Jupiter Marine from a boutique center‑console builder into a company capable of producing sophisticated, semi‑custom offshore yachts.
The Jupiter 41 Sport Bridge stands as a milestone in the company’s history — a boat that blended speed, luxury, and offshore capability in a way few builders could match. It remains one of Jupiter’s most admired models, a testament to the brand’s craftsmanship and its willingness to push beyond its roots to create something truly distinctive.
